solved hello! The mic does pick up something when its dead. by the clock (if it's not there, you can go to Control Panel\Sounds & Audio Devices and put the check mark there to make it show up), then choose OPEN VOUME There are only three holes that the mic plug could fit in.
EDIT3: OK I just found a thread from a guy with the same make of mobo and the soundmax driver, he had a very similar problem. Loading...
