I was always typing in capital letters, and under options, proofing, it was set to ignore capital letters. Once you click on it this following registry key is created HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Off... One of them worked so thank you to you all. I did not have a Override directory under Proofing Tools1.0, so I deleted the entire folder (or in my case, renamed) and it also fixed the issue.

Deleted that folder and the issue was resolved. My speller is back to normal. I've been trying to find out why this is happening for weeks now and this has solved it.
