EDIT: an interesting thing just happened.

I did so, and it fixed the problem. Upon start up, the audio works fine but after i close my laptop and it goes into sleep mode, when i come back and open it the audio no longer works. Also, if I uninstall the driver then reinstall it, the sound works again. Definitely an annoying bug. Windows Anniversary update hosed my audio/video (couldn't play Netflix, YouTube, any sounds, etc). I reverted to older driver that was designed for Windows 8.1 and updated my driver again.

In Device Manager, right-click on your sound device name. I did do the recommended updates.
